Responsibilities

Lead a team of civil and structural engineers and designers responsible for developing technical designs that meet our client’s requirements of quality, budget, and schedule with excellent communication. Lead and manage the overall group direction and workload through Team Leaders and Staff Engineers as direct reports. Build relationships with our Design & Engineering clients; FAM, Engineering Services, Operations, Entertainment, and WDI to ensure work is being prioritized correctly. Partner with peer managers within the Design & Engineering segment to develop strong relationships and leverage resources to drive consistency and optimization of workload in the segment. Lead the team to develop staffing plans and recruiting. Mentor engineers on career development, technical efforts, training and workflow. Provide resource loading, budget development, and management of the department. Establish regular reporting to monitor progress of workload, resources, and budgets. Accountable for cast member performance management process.

Building Official Liaison with City of Anaheim staff for plan check/ permitting/ inspections for projects at the Disneyland Resort. Represent Disney’s interests in addressing issues with external regulatory agencies in conjunction with Resort partners including D&E, Government Relations, Public Affairs, Operations, and others. Manage the permitting process, coordinate project priorities with teams including WDI, FAM, Entertainment, and others.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years experience in civil/structural engineering
  • 5 years of proven Leadership experience of technical groups and multidiscipline team
  • Proven record of strong leadership and administrative skills
  • Proven record of strategic and tactical thinking with good coaching abilities
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Prior experience in multi-faceted civil/structural design
  • Experience in developing alternative design solutions that can be implemented while facilities remain operational with limited access
  • Experience and ability to work in the field, gather relevant data, assess current condition of facility and develop design repair details to prolong an assets life
  • Demonstrated knowledge on different NDT procedures and evaluation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and ANSI Fall Protection requirements
  • Ability to complete analysis and design of concrete, masonry, wood, and aluminum
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and RISA 3D
  • Experience communicating with external regulatory agencies
  • Experience with project permitting and inspections

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer License - California

Required Education

  • BS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering from an accredited Institution or equivalent Engineering

Preferred Education

  • Masters Degree in Engineering or MBA
