The Safety Manager with Live Entertainment at the Disneyland Resort manages operational safety initiatives within the Live Entertainment line of business focusing on consistency, communication, and ensure that a “Safety Always” mentality is imbedded into production and daily operation.


  • The Safety Manager with Live Entertainment works with partners such as Worldwide Safety & Health, Producers, Production Managers, Technical Directors and Park Operations teams to drive safety-related initiatives and share best practices.
  • Drive the sustainment and alignment of safe practices within Entertainment through an “audit the audit” program focused on the documentation and execution of Operating Guide practices.
  • Partner with Entertainment OG Development Manager and Audit Manager to update verifies audits are consistent with OGs and standard updates.
  • Engage all affected parties in the review and validation of audit changes against current applicable standards within Entertainment LOB, published Company/Regulatory protocols, etc.
  • Oversee Entertainment Safety Specialist assigned to audit development project to create a reporting system that will provide meaningful data to the areas on a regular basis.
  • Work on various other safety related initiatives as assigned by the Entertainment Safety Program Manager.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in Entertainment operational areas
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of Disneyland® Resort policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated strong communicator skills, including listening, verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and deal with multiple priorities and handle confidential information
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and creative solution skills, negotiating and influencing abilities as well as continuous improvement process skills
  • Proven experience investigating incidents, working with Safety inspectors and writing complete documentation from start to finish
  • Demonstrated “service oriented” skills to work with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency within a Windows environment
  • Demonstrated familiarity with hazard identification and safety compliance
  • Demonstrated familiarity with hazard identification and safety compliance
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge including lighting, audio, pyrotechnics, and staging
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge of Safety In Motion©
  • Knowledge of safety auditing programs

Required Education

  • High School Degree or equivalent

Preferred Education

  • Four year college degree in a related field or equivalent
