Spray Painter - Full Time

Starting Pay Rate
The starting pay rate for this position is $27.54 per hour

Those in a Spray Painter position operate a hand gun or a large machine to apply paint, protective coatings, and decorative finishes to several types of material. They will set up equipment, mix materials, prepare surfaces, apply the required number of coatings, measure applied thickness and clean equipment following strict safety guidelines relating to hazardous materials and waste.




Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces to be coated by using various methods to remove grease, rust, dirt, coatings and paints.
  • Apply fine finishes to surfaces according to Disney Show Quality Standards. Perform repair and touch-up work as needed throughout the Resort.
  • Work both in a controlled environment such as a spray booth and in the field. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (respirators, gloves, safety glasses) for prolonged periods.
  • Clean nozzles, hoses, containers and other equipment. Handle all HAZMAT and HAZWASTE products following the Resort Operating Guideline procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

Schedule Availability - Monday-Friday with occasional shifts on Saturday and Sunday. Typical shifts are 1st shift, with occasional shifts occurring during 2nd or 3rd shift, as needed. Must be available to work on holidays. Must be available to work overtime and holidays as needed.

Must have the skills and previous experience in order to perform the duties listed under “Responsibilities” above.

Additional Information:

Those assigned to a Spray Painter position are required to attend an annual Hearing Conservation Training class, Respiratory Protection Training class and a Lead Awareness class. They are also required to submit to an annual medical evaluation, fit test, audiometric exam and a semi-annual lead/zinc blood test.
