Responsible for the overall safe operation of the energy plants and execution of preventative, predictive and/or corrective maintenance within the plants. Responsible for management and oversight of the Gas Utility and Central Maintenance Department functions. Directly and through subordinate leadership effectively maximizes operational performance and efficiency while minimizing financial cost, protecting the environment and maintaining high levels of reliability.


  • Lead a team of salaried and hourly craft workers
  • Lead a culture of safety through active and caring engagement with front-line Cast Members to support our vision that “no one gets hurt”.
  • Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all Cast Members through proper maintenance of equipment and facilities and elimination of hazards, while ensuring adherence to all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations, standards and policies.
  • Manage the Central Energy Plants and Central Maintenance functions
  • Accountable for operation of the Gas Utility in compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Assure compliance with Environmental regulations and support WDW Environmental initiatives
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to assigned supervisory and front-line Cast Members in Plant and Gas Operations and the Central Maintenance function to maximize individual development, contribution and success
  • Manage the Central Energy Plants and Central Maintenance functions. Plan, organize, prioritize and direct operations and activities in the preventative, scheduled, and corrective maintenance of all plant systems and equipment and mechanical and low voltage electrical systems in utility facilities
  • Inspect completed projects for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements and specifications. Partner with engineering to assure record drawings are accurate for all new and modified systems
  • Assist with the preparation and development of the strategic business plan through the submission of capital projects for energy plants and other systems/facilities in functional area
  • Prepare department budgets and manage operations within budget guidelines
  • Establish and maintain systems, processes and procedures to train Cast Members to facilitate knowledge transfer and maintain a high level of system reliability
  • Utilize Maximo to record and track the utility assets including prioritization and completion of all preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with peers in utilities and across the WDW to prioritize and schedule work in the Energy Plants and within the Central Maintenance function
  • Lead or oversee and manage the response to all abnormal conditions. Provide technical leadership to the operators including initial analysis of disturbances and forced outages. Begin initial incident investigations and assist with formal after-action reports.

Basic Qualifications

  • Five (5) years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Maintenance, utility/plant operations or engineering experience
  • Leadership capabilities, able to engage others in the required process, set expectations and hold people accountable
  • Ability to think strategically and engage in long-term planning
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience running more than one site/plant location
  • Ten (10 ) years of utility of related industry experience with working knowledge of plant or maintenance operations
  • Knowledge of State, Local and Federal environment regulations as they apply to power plant operations
  • Leadership of unionized personnel
  • Previous experience leading an operations team
  • Experience with pressurized gas systems

Required Education

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or ten (10) years’ experience in a related field
