Managing Consultant (Revenue Management & Analytics)

The Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Management Science & Integration (MSI) consulting team is responsible for supporting clients across The Walt Disney Company including Parks and Resorts, Media Networks (e.g., ABC, ESPN, etc.), Studio Entertainment (The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Theatrical) and Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. MSI leverages technology, data analytics, optimization, statistical and econometric modeling to explore opportunities, shape business decisions and drive business value. MSI seeks forward-thinking team members who are passionate about delivering quality results and enjoy working closely with key partners on both strategic and tactical challenges. Candidates should have a natural curiosity to understand the "why" behind business performance, take a proactive role in problem-solving, be results oriented, be able to prioritize and be a team player in a collaborative environment.

This position leads a team that supports the enhancement and sustainment of the revenue management, pricing and forecasting solutions for our Asia sites. Key initiatives include Theme Park Inventory Forecasting/Optimization and Hotel Revenue Management System, and other key initiatives as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap for both internal-build and vendor tools/systems
  • Partner with centralized segment leaders and experts; local RM&A leaders and experts; local partners in Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Operations, Finance; segment and local Technology leaders and experts, Finance and Legal; and, a wide range of solution providers and vendors. Act as key liaison between Asia sites and segment resources and external vendors
  • Lead a team to develop revenue management system and analytical tools:
    • Define scope and requirements
    • Design and build analytical tools
    • Perform data analysis and verification
    • Provide testing and quality assurance
    • Provide tool documentation and training
  • Solutions/Systems-Coordinate model and functionality validation for vendor solutions (e.g., PROS RMS, IDeaS RMS, Opera CRS/PMS, etc.). Spearhead system configuration and calibration. Ensure integrity of the system integration.
  • Sustainment/Enhancement-Lead and manage the sustainment activities of revenue management systems and decision support tools including leveraging synergies and best practices across sites and ensuring the system is optimally calibrated and functioning to maximize system uptime. Lead the ongoing enhancements to forecast and optimization engine. Assist with any measurement and enhancement of systems and tools.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills in data analysis and statistics
  • Proven technical skills including knowledge of statistical, data management and visualization tools
  • Sound knowledge of predictive techniques and basic optimization methodologies
  • Excellent business and technical integration skills (i.e., ability to connect the dots)
  • Experience with revenue management and pricing discipline
  • Excellent ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Good partnering and communication skills
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet with Asia partners during their business day

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, or other quantitative field

Preferred Education

  • Master’s degree with specialization in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, or other quantitative field
