Walt Disney World Co. currently has full-time openings for Power Distribution Technicians.
Responsibilities:Safely operate electric utility transmission, distribution and industrial electrical systems. Provide emergency response and service restoration in utility and industrial electrical outage conditions. Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electric utility transmission, distribution, control, metering and industrial electrical systems. Perform testing, calibrations, and repair on electric utility protection and metering systems and industrial equipment and systems. Effectively communicate with Energy Control Center operations, internal and external departments and customers, and other utility personnel. Effectively maintain and use electric application tools and testing devices designed for specific applications.
- Must have the ability to obtain a valid State of Florida CDL Class B driver’s license.
- Requires minimum of five (5) years’ experience within an electric utility and/or industrial environment.
- Need to have experience in power distribution and generation systems and associated controls.
- Knowledge of all OSHA and industry standard lock out tag out safety procedures including electrical switching and tagging procedures.
- Must have knowledge and experience in industry standard utility system and industrial application protective relaying systems and principles.
- Knowledge of protective relaying and ancillary device testing, troubleshooting and calibration.
- Must have knowledge in power distribution system substation operations and protection systems and devices.
- Must have knowledge and experience in all facets of electrical schematics and control system troubleshooting for power distribution and industrial applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in an engineering related field is desired
