Self-driven individual contributor, performing as part of a team assisting in the design, development and troubleshooting of electrical ride & show systems. Perform electrical engineering tasks including engineering analysis, drawings, system & functional requirements, hazards & FMEA analysis, vendor performance specifications, maintenance & inspection procedures and acceptance test plans. Successful candidate must be able to work with multiple stakeholders and partners from all levels of the organization to determine data and requirement driven technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Developing & implementing immediate recommendations and solutions based on collected data.
  • Determining functional and detail system requirements.
  • Verifying design compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Provide technical supervision for equipment fabrication, installation and commissioning efforts.
  • Verify system performance through acceptance and performance testing.
  • Work with maintenance and operating partners to develop equipment sustainment and operating procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited curriculum.
  • Proven, minimum, seven (7) years direct experience in electrical/controls engineering within the industrial controls, automation or transportation industries.
  • Demonstrated experience with open and closed loop feedback control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), relay logic, electric motors (AC and DC) and motor controllers (variable frequency, DC, stepper and servo drives), power conditioning and distributed control networks (e.g. ControlNet)
  • Demonstrated, timely, field troubleshooting experience including solution development and implementation in the industrial controls, automation or transportation industries.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated, successful, experience prioritizing and performing multiple, concurrent, engineering tasks.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, occasional 2nd or 3rd shifts and immediate response coverage.
  • Demonstrated experience working in multi-engineering discipline efforts including design, installation, testing and sustaining/plant engineering on safety critical systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency documenting engineering design information in AutoCAD or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Windows based Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven EIT or active Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of Florida
  • Demonstrated experience in ride and show control systems including safety critical applications for the entertainment industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with software programming including ladder logic (A-B or Siemens) and C environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PC and Network systems including: hardware, switches/routers, wireless, cabling/fiber communication, IP configuration, network security and general troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of audio and video systems including: amps/mixers, microphones, digital audio, cameras, projectors video servers and displays.
  • Proven knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA 79 and UL 508A codes and standards.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s of Science or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited curriculum
