Be a part of the team that supports the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts operations by improving the development and delivery of applications and systems that help create magical experiences for our Guests. As a Systems Technical Specialist with WDW Design & Engineering, you’ll be providing ongoing support for new installations as well as existing computer based interactive and show related systems that are located throughout Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field support for PC-based Interactive and Show Systems.
  • Provide supplemental training for Engineering Services technicians.
  • Configure computer systems prior to their deployment in the field.
  • Troubleshoot and make repairs to interactive systems already in the field and prior to deployment.
  • Look for ways to improve reliability and minimize downtimes.
  • Determine if issues are hardware or software related and work with all stakeholders to resolve.
  • Assist with deployment and rollout of Chef configuration management software.
  • Ensure adherence to cyber security policies and assist with implementation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic agile environment.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic with good time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to interface with customers.
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven self-starter who can work independently
  • Experience with Windows operating systems
  • Experience with PC based hardware
  • Experience in network setup, troubleshooting and use of network diagnostic test equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with creating and maintaining Chef Recipe and cookbook file for use with automated deployment.
  • Experience with SQL Databases
  • Experience in scripting
  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C, C++, C#.

Required Education

  • Bachelors degree in Electronics, Computer Programming, Information Technology or equivalent four-year degree.
