Business Development Manager, Business Solutions & Events

Reports to the Business Solutions & Events Director, the incumbent is accountable for BS&E Sales team supervision and motivation, in order to drive desired business results from the corporate meetings/conferences, events, social catering, group admissions and MICE segments. He/she is responsible for formulation of business development strategy, accurate forecasting and execution of key sales initiatives. This includes overseeing account acquisition, retention and expansion programs, within the corporate, social and association markets.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support all sales activity / lead generation, within corporate meetings, events, social catering and park events segments, to include site inspections, sales presentations and client entertainment, both on and offsite. Key job function is to drive favorable business results in exceeding sales targets for Revenue, Admissions and Room Nights
  • Close support to Sales Team to overcome operational / pricing / product barriers, in order to facilitate sales conversion efficiencies
  • Formulate, track and analyze key financial / sales reports, for the purpose of overall business review, team production pacing, identification of key industry trends, in order to develop sound sales and product strategies for nimble market implementation
  • Participate in local and overseas trade shows and corporate direct sales calls and/or cultivate new business development opportunities / relationships
  • Train and develop new staff, as well as continuous product knowledge refresh
  • Deputize the Business Solutions & Events Director, in his/her absence, across all BS&E sales channels and event services teams

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree holder
  • At least 9 years relevant experience in hospitality sales management, preferably in a leader role of a sizable sales team
  • Extensive industry experience and exposure of hotel group sales model
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, matrix organizational structure, and able to foster a positive and focused work environment
  • Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Strong interaction and communication skills, with polished presentation style to interact with multiple internal and external parties
  • Fluent in spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
