The Senior Business Analyst supports the Travel Operations Business Planning team by providing ongoing strategic direction in key Travel Operations’ Contact Center planning efforts for Walt Disney World. This includes creating long term Contact Center volume forecast models which includes future estimates of incoming call, chat and e-mail demand and labor needs for contact centers with the intent of developing and recommending future business direction. The role will perform root cause analysis of the model outputs to identify causes of change. In addition, the role partners with teams within Travel Operations, Marketing, Revenue Management, Industrial Engineering, Sales, Finance and WDW Forecasting to thoroughly understand existing trends and collaborate on future scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Create short and long term Contact Center volume and workload forecast models which includes future estimates of incoming demand and labor needs for contact centers with the intent of developing and recommending future business direction.
  • Develop and maintain various forecasting models for each Travel Operations business unit, including conducting sensitivity analysis around identified drivers for each forecast model.
  • Identify new technologies and techniques for analyzing each area of Travel Operations, partnering with multiple internal and external clients.
  • Perform root cause analysis of the model outputs to identify causes of change.
  • Consult with each Travel Operation’s business unit to understand fluctuations in their businesses to adapt the forecasting models to the business needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years work experience in business analytics and/or analytical-based strategy development
  • Proven experience with and strong understanding of advanced analytical methods
  • Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking ability
  • Demonstrated strong business planning skills
  • Demonstrated strong partnering skills
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated problem solving, as well as continuous process improvement skills
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency within a Windows environment
  • Willingness to learn new software applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SQL and SASS
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Proven experience and strong understanding of VBA

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or equivalent

Preferred Education

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Mining, Analytics, Business Analytics or equivalent
