We are currently hiring hourly Casual Temporary (CT) Assistant Stage Managers. This role will be hired for and utilized in support of the seasonal need with our holiday entertainment offerings. Continued employment after holiday peak season will be evaluated based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Work under the direction and guidance of a salaried Entertainment Stage Manager
- Perform daily operational duties to support stage productions, shows, atmosphere shows, spectaculars, events and festivals
- Support the smooth and successful planning and operation of rehearsals and performances
- Call cues (for certain offerings) and/or support the backstage operation for rehearsals and performances
- Assist in facilitating communication between cast, crew, and operational partners
- Maintain the organization, cleanliness, safety, and show-readiness of rehearsal and performance venues
- Help facilitate and track costume fittings and cosmetology seminars as needed
- Administer show and venue safety training to cast, crew, and outside talent as needed
- Assist in identifying and resolving potential impacts to a safe and successful operation and communicate accordingly with appropriate Entertainment or Resort personnel
- Foster a safe, courteous, respectful, supportive, and positive working environment
- Complete administrative or show maintenance tasks/projects as assigned
- Other duties/tasks as requested or assigned by a salaried Entertainment Stage Manager
Basic Qualifications:
- You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role
- Experience in a theatrical, industrial, or theme park environment as a Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, or Production Assistant
- Remains calm and collected during high-pressure and/or complicated situations
- Takes initiative and is a self-driven learner
- Works effectively as an individual contributor and in a collaborative team environment
- Understands how to "work in the gray" and proactively adapt to make quick decisions
- Operates in a safe, efficient, and organized manner
- Demonstrates relationship and team building skills
- Upholds the standards of Disney Entertainment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of current theatrical and business technology
- Strong focus on timeliness and time management
- Flexible with work schedule, including holidays, and overnights
- Physically able to stand for long periods of time, go up and down stairs quickly, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.)
- Comfortable working in proximity to pyrotechnics, automated scenery, and loud noises
Preferred Education:
- BA/BFA in Theater or other related course of study.
Additional Information:
SCHEDULE AVAILABILITYOur Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rehearsal and show shifts may start at any time of the day or night.
The Availability Requirements for the Casual Temporary (CT) role:
- Fully available at least 3 days per week during holiday peak (November through early January)
- Available to workday, evening, and/or overnight shifts based on business need.
- Available to work holidays, including (but not limited to):
- Thanksgiving Day
- Day after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
- New Year’s Eve
- New Year’s Day
Hours can vary from 0 to 40 hours per week during this time.
