We are looking for Garment Cutters! Have you ever dreamed of being a Garment Cutter at Walt Disney World? Garment Cutters support the Costuming Production Workroom for Disney Live Entertainment! You will help create costumes using fabrics and patterns for our shows, parades, and Character Meet and Greets. This role uses computer-controlled machines to cut materials while contributing to costume documentation.You will report to the Costuming Manager.
The pay rate for this role in Florida is $17.25 per hour.

As a part of the consideration process for this position, there will be a 5-hour in-person assessment.
Responsibilities:
- Connect with Leadership and other Costuming partners
- Accurately and safely use hand-cutting equipment
- Use standard fabric knowledge and garment industry knowledge for basic garment cutting
- Lay out and cut garment pieces using appropriate tools and techniques
- Accurately use pressing (i.e. irons) and fusing equipment
- Read, understand, and interpret directions on the bundling checklist, marker, marker cover sheet, and swatch card
- Fill out written documentation on fabric usage
- Operate electronic cutting table with direction
- Verify orders from the Cut Room and quality check for Cut/Bundle Kit
- Cross-reference the bundle against the checklist in the tech pack and add notions/CCI items
- Prioritize cut bundles for sew floor
- Assess the order for accuracy before starting
- Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required
- Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
Basic Qualifications:
- Operate basic computer systems
- Experience with Excel and Word
- Proficient verbal and written communication for documentation and safety purposes
- Knowledge of cutting techniques, tools, and terminology
- Physical role requiring repetitive movement such as heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, grasping, clutching, prolonged standing, and kneeling
- Minimal climbing of step stools/small ladders
- Be able to work with or around costumes made of natural or synthetic materials such as fur, foam, latex, or mylar
- Comfortable with working at varying heights
- Push or pull up to 46 lbs.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Team lift with 2 Cast Members maximum of 85 lbs.
- Full-Time roles require full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience in garment construction
- Experience using large computerized cutting machines
- Experience with plotters, digitizers, digital drawing tablets, and handheld 3D scanners
