Are you passionate about safety and guest service? The Disneyland® Resort is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Security K9 Handler Cast Members. In this role, you’ll help ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests and Cast Members across our parks and hotels.

• Partner with highly trained K9s to maintain safety and security
• Use excellent conflict resolution and communication skills
• Deliver outstanding guest service while handling sensitive situations with professionalism

Day-to-Day Job Duties:

Provides a safe and secure environment for the Disneyland® Resort by performing the following roles:

• Security Screening:
  • Works in tandem with their company-assigned canine partner to detect a variety of substances in various working environments, including indoor and outdoor venues
  • Performs Guest screening and K9 searches of vehicles, buildings, open areas, and unattended items
  • Acts as a visible and engaged deterrent to undesirable behaviors and actions
• Guest Interaction:
  • Provides excellent conflict resolution skills while balancing the importance of providing great Guest Service
  • Actively train and work with other team members and external partners in a rigorous physical training and technical environment
• Emergency Response:
  • Responds to critical incidents including emergencies, evacuations, Company policy violations, and works with law enforcement
  • Apply critical thinking, analytical and decision-making skills as necessary and, at times under duress, to address actual and potential security concerns or emergency situations
• Demonstrates keen observation and critical thinking skills, good judgment in decision making, and professionalism in assisting with medical incidents, Guest and Cast conflict situations, and other emergency response needs
• Conducts behavioral assessments, utilizing specialized training and methodologies, to identify potential indicators of unusual and suspicious conduct
• Responsible for caring for their canine partner, including bathing, feeding, and conducting kennel maintenance

Basic Qualifications:

• You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role
• Strong communication skills
• Possess a current California Driver License with no moving violations for the past twelve (12) months
• Complete K9 detection training courses, maintain multiple annual certifications with their canine partner and maintain proficiency through weekly training

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual preferred
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or related Public Safety experience
• Previous security responsibilities for a multi-site campus facility (either corporate or college setting)
• Previous detection dog training/experience
• Full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Additional Information:

SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am. Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.

The pay rate for this role in California is $32.00 per hour.
